Last week I shared the pattern for my crocheted Cabled Crown Beanie. You may remember that I mentioned that a knit version was in the works. Despite my sloth-like knitting speed, I've finished the hat! And now I'm ready to share the pattern for my new knitted Cabled Crown Beanie, for any knitters out there.
Edit: You can now find an updated version of the pattern here, if you'd like a slightly different look.

For Halloween this year, I needed a knight helmet for my husband. I suppose I could have bought one somewhere, but you know how I am. If I can crochet something, the odds are good that I will. I came across this sweet Knight's Helmet pattern by BrieCrochet Designs, who's generous enough to offer the pattern for free! My favorite part is the visor that flips up and down. I had to make some changes to her pattern to make it work for me, but I absolutely love the concept.
I've got another great Designer Spotlight that I'm excited to share with you all! This week's spotlight is about Pamela of One Paisley Pig. I stumbled across one of her patterns on Ravelry the other day, and I was instantly intrigued. What else has she been designing? So I browsed through all of her patterns and fell in love with her work. I knew I HAD to feature her on the blog, if she was interested. And, luckily enough, she agreed to participate! So if you haven't seen her work yet, this is a perfect opportunity to get to know more about Pamela and take a look at her gorgeous and unique designs. And, if you see something you like, just click the picture and it'll take you to the pattern page.
I LOVE cables. Knitted cables are my absolute favorite. But there's no reason that crocheters can't get in on the cable party too! I knew that I wanted to include cables in my next hat design, but I didn't want to just use vertical cables. Been there, done that. Instead, I decided to place the cables horizontally around the brim, almost like a crown. With one of these hats, you're basically the (subtle) Queen of Crochet.
Who's ready for another fabulous Designer Spotlight?!? I'm super excited to share this week's spotlight with you all, featuring Maria of Maria's Blue Crayon. I've been seeing Maria's designs popping up all over the place lately, and for good reason! Her designs are the perfect combination of adorable details and simplicity. I'm predicting that she's going to be huge in the crochet world someday, so this is one blogger you'll definitely want to keep an eye on. So jump on the bandwagon early (if you haven't already) and learn more about what inspires her work and take a peek at some of her designs.
We may be in the midst of "pumpkin spice" season, but for me fall just isn't complete without some crisp, fresh apples. And after taking the kids apple picking at the farm, we always end up with way too many apples. Which means it's time to bake!
