After knitting a copy cat version of the popular C.C. beanie, I decided that it would be a fun challenge to design a crochet version. With a bit of trial and error, I came up with something that I think mirrors the main elements of the original hat. So, I give you the Copy Cat Copy Cat C.C. Beanie. Er, the CC CC C.C. Beanie. The 3 CC Beanie? Well, since 1 cc = 1 mL, I'm calling this the 3 mL Beanie. If there can be 10 gallon hats, then there can be a 3 mL Beanie. (Yes, I know I'm a giant nerd. Thanks for noticing.)

Crocheting is definitely my first yarn love. But every now and then, it's nice to trade it my hook for a pair of knitting needles. It's fun to do something different and to challenge myself by learning some new techniques. The new circular knitting needles I got for Christmas were calling my name, so I decided to give them a test run with this lovely hat pattern.
The time finally came for Little #2 to get a lovey of his own instead of stealing big brother's. Which, of course, seemed like an excellent excuse to pull out my hooks and yarn. I wanted to make something different than other loveys I've made before, so I decided on an elephant. But I couldn't quite find a pattern that was exactly what I wanted, so I put together pieces of a couple different free patterns and designed a simple piece of my own to finish it off.
